Youth Performance Partnerships
Youth Performance Partnerships link schools and community groups with cultural organisations, helping young people to engage with dance, drama, music and theatre in areas where they lack opportunities to get involved in the arts.
About the programme
About the programme
This fund aims to support new opportunities for children and young people from areas of low cultural engagement and high levels of deprivation to design their own programme of workshops, events and productions as well as developing backstage and technical skills.
More than 10,000 five to eighteen year olds will work with organisations including The BRIT School, BBC and the Lowry Trust to learn performance skills such as acting, dancing and rapping.
They will also get the chance to learn about behind the scenes disciplines such as creative writing, set design, lighting and sound, and will work with playwrights to develop and design new works which they will perform.
