Background to Grants for the arts
We launched Grants for the arts in April 2003. This streamlined 100 or more separate funding programmes and made the grant process consistent across England. There is one application pack for individuals and organisations, regardless of what you are applying for.
In 2005/06, we made 4,707 grants totalling £81.7 million.
We regularly evaluate the Grants for the arts programme and carry out user testing to make the application process as straightforward as possible and make improvements.
